In an effort led by the American Council on Education (ACE), more than 60 higher education associations, including AAU, submitted comments in response to the Department of Education's Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) on Title IX.
AAU submitted comments to the Department of Education on their NPRM on Title IX. In the letter, AAU identified key concerns and requested the department be less prescriptive in their regulations.
AAU President Mary Sue Coleman today wrote to House and Senate Appropriations leaders to applaud their efforts in securing increased higher education and research investments in FY19 and urge completion of the remaining FY19 appropriations bills after the midterm elections.

AAU, ACE, and thirty-three other organizations sent this letter to Mick Mulvaney, Director of the Office of Management and Budget, to express their concerns regarding possible FY2018 Budget rescission and the inclusion of federal student aid programs.

AAU urges Congress to support a maximum Pell Grant award of $6,230 in FY19.
