The Coalition for National Security Research, of which AAU is a member, sent a letter to the Secretary of Defense and Director of the Office of Managment and Budget urging increases in the Defense S&T program. "In an effort to begin to reach recommended funding levels, we urge you to include at least a 4 percent increase over enacted levels in the Defense S&T program including the defense basic research programs in the FY 2020 budget request."
AAU President Mary Sue Coleman today wrote to House and Senate Appropriations leaders to applaud their efforts in securing increased higher education and research investments in FY19 and urge completion of the remaining FY19 appropriations bills after the midterm elections.
The Coalition for National Security Research, of which AAU is a member, sent a letter to Congressman Shelby, Durbin, Granger, and Visclosky, thanking them for their strong support for the robust Defense Science & Technology funding levels in the final FY19 Defense-LHHS Appropriations bill.

AAU and several other associations wrote to House leadership to urge passage of the FY19 Labor-HHS-Education and Defense spending bill. The letter says the associations are grateful for the “meaningful increases for the programs that make college accessible and promote medical research.”
