Innovation is the foundation of U.S. security and prosperity. Much of that innovation results from federally-funded research at AAU universities. AAU has pushed Congress to increase funding for science, including in the bipartisan CHIPS and Science Act of 2022. AAU is working with Congress to ensure that funding goals in CHIPS and Science are met. This will prepare the American scientific workforce for the jobs of the future. It will also support our scientific infrastructure, such as labs and equipment. These investments will be needed to ensure our nation's leadership in areas like quantum and AI.
