The Task Force on American Innovation, of which AAU is a member, sent a letter urging Senate and House Budget Committee leaders to prioritize investments in fundamental research and research-related infrastructure in the FY22 budget and in any potential reconciliation instructions.
AAU joined the Coalition for the American Dream, a coalition of more than 100 top businesses and trade associations, in sending a letter to President Biden and congressional leaders urging swift passage of legislation that would create a pathway to citizenship for Dreamers.

AAU President Barbara R. Snyder sent a letter urging Senate and House budget committee leaders to make bold investments in the health, security, prosperity, and future of our nation as they craft the FY22 budget.

AAU, ACE, and 23 other higher education organizations and associations sent a letter to Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas with questions about COVID-19 travel restrictions and National Interest Exceptions for students and academics traveling to the United States this fall.

AAU, ACE, and 30 other higher education associations and organizations sent a letter to House Appropriations Committee Chair Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) and Ranking Member Kay Granger (R-TX) supporting the Labor-HHS-Education appropriations bill and urging committee members to also support the bill during markup.
AAU, AACC, and 21 other higher education associations and organizations sent a letter to Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) expressing enthusiastic support for the Tax-Free Pell Grant Act.
The Ad Hoc Group for Medical Research, of which AAU is a member, released a statement on NIH funding in the draft House FY22 Labor-HHS appropriations bill.
AAU joined ACE and four other higher education associations in sending a letter urging Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) to bring the nomination of James Kvaal as under secretary of education to the Senate floor for a vote.
