AAU Comments on Education Department's Proposed Title IX Rules

Following is a statement by President Mary Sue Coleman regarding AAU's comments on the Education Department’s proposed Title IX regulations:

AAU universities are committed to protecting the safety and wellbeing of their campus communities and are working diligently to prevent and address allegations of sexual assault and misconduct. As part of this long-standing commitment, AAU has provided the Education Department with comments on the agency’s proposed Title IX regulations. It is our hope that these comments, informed by our universities’ experiences in administering campus sexual assault and misconduct proceedings, will help guide the department as they work to ensure policies and procedures are fair to all involved, and result in safer campus communities. AAU and its 60 U.S. universities look forward to engaging the department as the rulemaking process moves forward.
