Taking Action Against the Drought

Being located in a semi-arid climate, UC San Diego has long had ambitious water-saving goals. Now, with California facing one of the most severe droughts on record, they are taking even greater action to reduce their water consumption to the greatest extent possible. Their comprehensive Water Action Plan has helped UC San Diego save millions of gallons of water annually. The plan focuses on a variety of conservation measures and details how they are working towards the University of California goal to reduce campus-wide potable water use by 20 percent by 2020.
