Statement of AAU President Barbara Snyder on Rescinding of January 27 OMB Memo

The following is a statement from the Association of American Universities President Barbara R. Snyder regarding the January 27 Office of Management and Budget (OMB) memo which ordered a temporary pause to all federal grants, loans and other financial assistance programs.

We appreciate the administration’s reconsideration of its pause of critical grant-funded scientific and technological research which would have set back U.S. scientific competitiveness against global competitors and potential adversaries.  We look forward to working with officials to ensure that we can continue to advance American science together.
