AAU Strongly Supports Nomination of Kelvin Droegemeier to OSTP Director

Following is a statement by Association of American Universities President Mary Sue Coleman regarding President Trump’s nomination of Dr. Kelvin K. Droegemeier to Director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy:

Dr. Droegemeier is a nationally recognized scientist and science policy leader and an excellent choice as the next Office of Science and Technology Policy Director. We applaud President Trump’s selection. We urge the Senate to confirm Dr. Droegemeier as soon as possible.

AAU has long encouraged the administration to appoint a strong leader to the OSTP and the White House did just that. AAU was among the 58 national organizations who asked President Trump to select a highly-qualified individual to serve as director of the OSTP, an organization crucial to our nation’s scientific enterprise.
