AAU joined the Innovation Alliance and five other organizations in sending a letter to the leaders of the Senate Judiciary Committee expressing opposition to the Pride in Patent Ownership Act (S. 2774). The letter noted that the legislation will harm “inventors and patent-holders, especially start-ups and universities” by “unfairly and excessively” punishing them for record-keeping errors. “Invention is the engine of economic growth and job creation in the United States, and we cannot afford to stymie our innovation ecosystem,” the letter emphasized.
