Scholarship lies at the heart of academic life and is central to evaluating the intellectual pursuits of faculty at research universities. Scholarship consists of: research, discovery and creative work; the integration of ideas and information; the application of knowledge to real-world problems; and the advancement of teaching and learning. AAU collectively works with its members to promote, preserve and enhance scholarship at AAU institutions.
