CNSF Requests at Least $11.9 Billion for NSF in FY25

The Coalition for National Science Funding, of which AAU is a member, sent letters to congressional science appropriators requesting at least $11.9 billion in funding for the National Science Foundation in FY25. The letters state that funding at this level for NSF would positively impact regional innovation, workforce, and the science and engineering ecosystem. The letters also state “In 2022, Congress reauthorized NSF for 5 years through the CHIPS and Science Act (P.L. 117-167), and targeted $16.7 billion for the agency in FY25. We understand the difficult fiscal climate. However, the FY24 level of funding for NSF fell far below our competitiveness needs.”
