Ad Hoc Group for Medical Research Urges Robust FY23 Funding for NIH and ARPA-H

Three hundred and sixty-nine members of the Ad Hoc Group for Medical Research, including AAU and several AAU institutions, sent a letter asking the leaders of the House and Senate appropriations committees to include a robust investment of more than $49 billion in the FY23 spending package for the National Institutes of Health.

The letter also urges lawmakers to ensure that funding for the newly established Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) is supplementary to the NIH and does not supplant the NIH’s base budget. The letter also urges lawmakers to complete FY23 appropriations in a timely manner.
