AAU Amicus Curiae Brief in Darweesh v Trump

During the past three weeks, AAU members have seen their law-abiding students stranded abroad, and their law-abiding faculty members prevented from travelling to and from foreign countries. Scholars based abroad are pulling out of academic conferences in the United States, either because they are directly affected by the travel ban or because they are concerned about the EO's harmful impact on academic discourse and research worldwide. And potential recruits have expressed serious doubts about attending or teaching at AAU schools. These consequences directly threaten the ability of AAU's member universities to fulfill their commitments to serving their students, their communities, the United States, and the world through innovative teaching and research.
