This page is a hub for activities of the Joint Associations Group (JAG) on Indirect Costs. On July 11, 2025, the group released the Financial Accountability in Research (FAIR) Model, a new approach to increase transparency, accountability, and clarity in how federal research funding is spent.
As leaders of the Joint Associations Group (JAG) on Indirect Costs – which represents research institutions from every state in the nation, large and small, public and private – we urge policy makers to embrace and codify the Financial Accountability in Research (FAIR) model.

The Board of Directors of the Association of American Universities (AAU) endorses the new Financial Accountability in Research (FAIR) model proposed by the Joint Associations Group
