AAU is committed to advocating for higher education legislation that supports our mission to advance society through education, research and discovery. On behalf of its members, AAU monitors and engages on a wide range of policy and appropriations-related education issues, including accreditation, graduate education, international programs, student aid, and other issues in the Higher Education Act. Of particular importance is the reauthorization of the Higher Education Act (HEA), which was last reauthorized in 2008 and is currently up for renewal. AAU looks forward to working with policymakers on the next reauthorization of the HEA.
