Deputy Vice President for Government Relations and Public Policy
AAU is excited to announce an opening for a Deputy Vice President for Government Relations and Public Policy (GRPP). Reporting to the Senior Vice President for GRPP, this position plays a key role in shaping and advancing AAU's federal advocacy agenda in support of scientific research, higher education, and research universities.
The Deputy VP will develop, coordinate, and lead AAU's advocacy and strategic engagement for federal budget and appropriations related matters pertaining to federally funded scientific research. In addition, the Deputy VP will oversee and support a team of government relations professionals responsible for cross-cutting funding and policy issues related to key federal research agencies including NSF, NIH, DOD, DOE, NASA, USDA, and others. In this capacity, the Deputy VP will ensure that issues and agency-related advocacy efforts are aligned with AAU's broader federal priorities and strategy, providing high-level coordination, guidance, and integration across the team.
