ASSOCIATIONS EXPRESS SUPPORT FOR BLOCKING TEACHER PREPARATION REGULATIONS
A group of higher education associations, including AAU, on February 6 sent a letter to leaders of the House Committee on Education and the Workforce supporting H. J. Res. 58 , a resolution to block implementation of the Obama Administration’s rule on teacher preparation programs. The associations said the final rule failed to reflect cutting-edge professional practice and could have significant adverse consequences.
The House approved the resolution on February 7, sending it to the Senate for consideration. A simple majority would be required for Senate passage.
