NIH RELEASES REPORT ON “REDUCING ADMINISTRATIVE BURDEN” FOR ANIMAL RESEARCHERS

The NIH, together with the USDA and the FDA, Wednesday released the 78-page “Report on Reducing Administrative Burden for Researchers: Animal Care and Use in Research.” The report outlines the recommendations of the 21st Century Cures Act Section 2034(d) Working Group, and the next steps NIH, USDA, and FDA intend to employ to “identify additional areas to protect animal welfare while reducing unnecessary administrative burden on researchers.”

AAU is reviewing the report and will provide analysis as necessary in the coming days.
