The Task Force on American Innovation, of which AAU is a member, sent a letter to members of the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology thanking them for addressing the implementation of the CHIPS and Science Act and providing a recommendation for their report. Specifically, TFAI urged the Biden administration to ensure that its FY24 budget request includes full funding at the authorized levels for the science and technology initiatives contained in the CHIPS act. “This level of investment is necessary to expand and accelerate research and development for the semiconductor and microelectronics industries, among many other fields where U.S. leadership is critical,” the letter noted.
