Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (D-MI) is circulating a "dear colleague" letter to urge the Acting Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, Chad Wolf to rescind the SEVP guidance relating to students that was released on July 6th, 2020. The letter points out that even though international students are a key part of the higher education ecosystem, with universities transitioning to an online learning model in response to COVID-19, this guidance puts those students in threat of deportation. The sign-on deadline is Thursday, July 9.
