The Association of American Universities has significant concerns with Division D (Science) of the House Amendment to the Energy Policy and Modernization Act of 2016 (S. 2012). This includes the authorized funding levels in the amendment which are significantly below current FY 2016 appropriated levels for ARPA-E, the Office of Science’s Biological and Environmental Research (BER) program, and critical R&D programs in Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, Nuclear Energy, Electricity Delivery and Energy Reliability, and Fossil Energy.
