Organizations Urge Early Designation of Presidential Science Advisor
Under the leadership of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and the Association of American Universities (AAU), a group of 178 organizations has sent a letter to both presidential candidates urging them to appoint a Science Advisor by January 20 and to elevate the position of the advisor to Assistant to the President for Science and Technology and assign it cabinet rank.
Endorsing organizations include science, engineering, technology, and mathematical organizations, scientific societies, academic institutions, trade associations, and businesses.
