RESEARCH ADMINISTRATION AND POLICY ISSUES
The conduct of federally funded university research requires a variety of administrative structures both on campus and within federal agencies in order to ensure that research is funded and managed to achieve top-quality results, to ensure the safety of researchers and research subjects, and to ensure that research is conducted with high ethical standards. The costs of these administrative structures and related costs of research are supported jointly by universities and the government.
Important policy questions surround these research procedures, and AAU works with the government and universities to protect the integrity, safety, openness, and security of research.
